Restoration Hell

Hey everyone I know I have been the biggest ass and haven't really been calling or emailing! Work has been insane with our new show Restoration Comedy opening on Wednesday. I have been working non-stop every day on hats for the show. I've made about 15 for the show....uuugh!

For those of you who care...To make the hats you have to take a big piece of round felt and steam/pull it into the right shape using a wooden head block. It takes a few hours to pull it and then you let it dry over night. The next day you stiffen it using the nastiest most toxic stuff ever. Then you cut the brim down and wire the edge. After that you hand sew hat ribbon around the edge and inside the hat. Once again you shape it with steam and then you get to the fun part of decorating them. Since these all have feathers you take the feathers and dye them and then you curl them using a knife. After that it's all about placing them and sewing them on! All and all it takes about 2-3 days to make a hat. Tooo much fun! Anyways here are some pics of the fun hats! I love you all and swear I will write more later!!
